The Role

Our Product Owner provides technical insight and guidance into the product process, creating and documenting the technical specifications while working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development and deployment of our Public Safety products.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide input and guidance across multiple Development and Quality Assurance teams to drive excellent quality in products
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities and articulate this direction to Agile teams and stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain product roadmap with the Product Manager while advising on future development that needs to be addressed
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, features, and epics to ensure work focuses on maximum value and alignment with product strategy
  • Drive delivery of items in Funded Pipeline
  • Initiate stakeholder presentation/demo of features developed
  • Create and maintain feature requirement documents, including acceptance tests that can be applied
  • Solicit feedback from internal subject matter experts and customers to incorporate into upcoming backlog items
  • Work closely with Product Management to maintain product backlog in alignment with roadmap, including prioritizing, grooming, and understanding acceptance criteria
  • Understand and contribute to database design review and database volume and recognize performance bottlenecks
  • Provide iteration planning and elaboration of user stories, ensuring that they provide quality solutions across all integrated products
  • Establish release plans in alignment with resources while maintaining awareness of customer issues

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of professional experience as a Product Owner or similar
  • Skilled with product management methodology and processes
  • Skilled with software product design, functionality and development
  • Knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Skilled with technical writing and developing user stories
  • Able to tie user stories to specific database knowledge and create user stories that require minimum changes after being committed to development
  • Skilled with Story Mapping, Feature Breakdown, and Mind Mapping techniques
  • Able to take complex requests and distill into understandable context for other stakeholders and development
  • Able to speak to issues in practice and influence necessary change by the development teams
  • Able to facilitate large team meetings and pull all participants into discussions
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
