The Position

As the VP, End User Engineering, you will continue Arch's journey to transform global desktop engineering and drive innovation to achieve strategic business goals and objectives. This position is responsible for architectural design, implementation, and operations of employee facing technology, in alignment with industry best practices.

Responsible for strategy related to desktop computing, mobility, desktop and application virtualization, and related end user facing capabilities, this person will develop end user engineering roadmaps and advance the function to meet quickly shifting business requirements in a rapidly growing, and dynamic environment. This role requires an advanced level of technical proficiency and requires an individual with an executive presence and effective communication and leadership skills.

Reports to: SVP, End User Services

Geographic location: US or EU based, Raleigh Preferred



Job Responsibilities

    Develop and implement a framework which ensures frequent updates to desktop images, mobile devices, VDI Infrastructure, etc.
  • Develop an agile work environment that supports and deploys new ways of working and enables diversity and inclusion.
  • Design technology solutions in a collaborative manner with related teams, ensuring redundancy, scalability, security, etc.
  • Design and develop computing solutions that deliver high quality experience for end users.
  • Collaborate with other IT support teams to ensure frequent knowledge transfer and alignment.
  • Design and develop an experience that is consistent among all segments and geographic locations.
  • Review and approve relevant billing and financials.
  • Participate in budget planning and articulate future resource needs.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive presentations and business case documentation to Senior IT and Business leaders
  • Contribute to the End User Technology Enterprise Architecture Committee.
  • Ensure risk of engineering team is managed through the adherence to the change control processes
  • Continue to build a high performing global team which drives a positive culture, teamwork, communications, partnership, life-long learning, career development, and team excellence.
  • Organize, manage, observe, and evaluate employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service levels are met.
  • Mentor, develop, and provide on-the-job training to a global team to strengthen their current performance and preparation for future advancement.


Required Skills/Experience

  • 10 years of applicable IT and Leadership with 7 years' experience managing IT professionals.
  • Professional experience serving in a leadership role within an information technology service function.
  • Demonstrable experience overseeing planning, delivery, and maintenance of a portfolio of business-critical computerized solutions on time and in budget.
  • Vendor management experience including vendor due diligence, contracting, and performance management.
  • Strong interfacing and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues including IT contractors/developers, business stakeholders, customers, and vendors/suppliers at all levels including senior management and board level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Proven skills in managing large, global IT staff in a matrixed environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment, be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ServiceNow, the Microsoft Office 365 Suite, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience building, transforming, and maturing end user engineering services and processes.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
