Job Description Summary

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the timely and accurate receipt and stocking of inbound products, order fulfillment and scheduling of delivery and distribution. Moves and maintains merchandise displays per the direction of store sales team. Assists with operational tasks such as cleaning, organizing and tagging per the direction of the store sales team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Store Standards/ Operations:

  • Prepare and unbox the product to La-Z-Boy specifications. Review product against paperwork to check for order completeness and accuracy
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of furniture and accessories on and off trucks which includes operating power equipment on occasion. Occasionally move up to 350 pounds on a two-wheel dolly
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and showroom. Other duties as required by management, to include product prep, reuse or recycling of revenue commodities, 5S responsibilities, attending company required training and committee participation
  • Porter will be responsible for scanning furniture when receiving, moving, or loading into the computer system. Receive returned furniture from the delivery trucks and place in the correct locations. Ensure that all product to be sent back to warehouse is properly packaged and all corresponding paperwork is attached
  • Participates & Executes cycle counts, accounting procedures, systems procedures, and store merchandise displays.
  • Works with the Store team to execute all Merchandise changes, Test & Learn programs and sell thru strategies.
  • Executes all tagging and sign programs 100% to the Company standard and provides feedback on effectiveness/opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborates with other team members to improve performance and execution of all duties.
  • Values information sharing and looks for opportunities to drive team learning and knowledge share.

  • Assists customers with loading and unloading sold merchandise

SCOPE & IMPACT:

This job supports the success of the store by consistently providing outstanding customer service, one customer at a time. Meets or exceeds performance expectations including customer satisfaction rates, operational excellence, dependability and schedule adherence. Ability to facilitate the resolution of customer issues with partnership of store leadership. Has access to extended RMS access including override approval.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • HS Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • OSHA Certification

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: none

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Nearly continuously stand, balance, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs. Often repetitive hand motion, walking, bending, stooping, listening, talking, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, and operate industry equipment.
