Position Information
Under the general supervision of the Financial and Administrative Officer, this position is responsible for providing high level customer service while performing complex procurement and human resources functions for two research centers within the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering: The Center for Environmental Research & Technology and the Winston Chung Global Energy Center. Incumbent will serve as the lead purchaser who will serve as a subject matter expert to other transactors within the Centers and provide training to new transactor employees on purchasing policies and procedures. The incumbent will also be responsible for the on-boarding and off-boarding of all new employees for CE-CERT and WCGEC, overseeing the visa processing, I-9 verifications, and answering questions regarding employment and benefits. Incumbent will assist the FAO in the preparation of academic personnel appointment and reappointment requests, using critical thinking and thorough understanding of academic personnel policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.

Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff.
