Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - Trauma/General Surgery

MyMichigan Medical Center Midland has an excellent opportunity for two motivated Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our trauma/general surgery team providing services to our Trauma Level II facility in Midland, MI.

This full time inpatient opportunity will be a rotating 5 week schedule. Shifts vary from 7a-7p and rounding week from 7a-3p. Rotation will be discussed during initial conversations to review the proposed schedule. There will not be a call requirement but scheduled shifts may fall on holidays.

Inpatient responsibilities include, but are not limited to, rounding and coordinating care on trauma/acute care general surgery patients with attending surgeon, responding to trauma activations in the ED, inpatient and ED consults, writing H&P and progress notes, responding to inpatient nursing and ancillary department inquiries.

This APP will also have the opportunity to perform procedures such as chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, sutures, and assisting with bedside tracheostomy/peg tube placements. ATLS will be a requirement for this position but can be completed during the orientation process.
