We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time Therapist III position in the New Horizons Probation Program.
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
New Horizons Probation Program offers a team environment.
Job Responsibilities Include:


  • Maintaining a caseload of at-risk youth clients at a host site
  • Providing clinical and administrative supervision to up to 3 clinical therapists
  • Providing clinical and administrative supervision, including licensure supervision for LPC or LCSW
  • Provide effective treatment to clients with mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders that result in improved personal outcomes and stabilization of mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments, including ASAM Criteria and DLA-20, including formulating diagnoses and making recommendations on level of care of treatment needed
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans to promote progress of client
  • Providing individual, group, and family therapy utilizing Evidence-Based practices to youth on probation and their families
  • Writing court ordered evaluations for the court system and making treatment recommendations
  • Providing on-call phone crisis intervention for clients to include evaluating risk and need for hospitalization
  • Provides crisis intervention services for own caseload of clients
  • Provides case consultation of crisis intervention services for supervisees or other Therapist II's
  • Documentation of all services, contacts and attempted contact with client, their family, and collaterals
  • Linking, monitoring, referring, coordinating, and facilitating services needed by clients
  • Collaborating with other departments within probation, within Community Services and the community
  • Collaborating with Probation Officers, schools, DSS, psychiatrists, other service providers and family members
  • Timely clinical documentation into an Electronic Health Record that meets state and agency guidelines
  • Maintaining healthy boundaries with clients and their families
  • Implementing program, systems, state and federal directives


PREFERENCES: the successful candidate will have...

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field


  • Possesses an unrestricted LPC or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • 2-3 years of experience providing therapy services to children, adolescents and families with issues related to mental health, substance use and co-occurring in office and community-based settings


Preference will be given to candidate with:


  • 1-2 years of experience providing clinical and administrative supervision
  • Experience providing and supervising direct clinical services to at-risk youth and families with complex mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to therapists
  • Experience with and providing individual, group, and family therapy
  • Experience with Evidenced Based Practices
  • Experience working in a host environment
  • Experience providing crisis intervention and risk management
  • Experience collaborating with other service providers


SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
This full-time position is based in the Juvenile Detention Center in Manassas. This position requires a 4- or 5-day work week that includes evening hours each week to meet client needs and on-call phone coverage.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must pass DMV record check
  • Must pass TB test
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint based National Criminal History Record Check
  • Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.


ENTRY SALARY RANGE:
$72,162.00 - $104,126.00
