Driver CDL - Part Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Driver CDL, transports patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees to and from system facilities in a safe, courteous and considerate manner. The Driver CDL assist patients entering and exiting vehicle as required, and will provide directions and general information when asked. Drivers clean vehicles and ensure proper vehicle maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Picks up and delivers patients, visitors, medical staff, employees, and students to and from system facilities in a safe, courteous and considerate manner according to established routes and schedules.
• Assists passengers entering and exiting vehicle in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provides patients, visitors, medical staff, employees, and students with directions and general information as required.
• Operates department vehicle safely, courteously and efficiently assuming personal responsibility for obeying all traffic laws and for compliance with the regulations of the Department of Public Safety governing the operation of buses observing all traffic rules and regulations.
• Reports damage of the vehicle, any safety incidents, as well as rider misconduct to the Supervisor. Reports all accidents and completes required incident reports to both Supervisor and Police Dispatch as required/directed.
• Completes driver log or trip report in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Maintains vehicles in clean, working condition; diligently checks fuel, oil, water and transmission fluid levels daily, replenishing as needed.

• Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

• Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC)
• Annual Driver Review (ADR): Must complete an drivers review yearly.
• CDL Drivers Road Test (DRT): Must complete a drivers road test within 30 days of hire.
• Com Drivers License A (CDL-A), Com Drvers License B (CDL-B), Com Drivers License C (CDL-C): Must possess and maintain a valid Texas CDL class C or higher with Passenger and Airbrakes endorsements, medical certification and driving record that meets DOT and BSWH standards.
