Responsibilities The Gujral Laboratory in the Human Biology Division at Fred Hutch laboratory is recruiting a regular part-time Undergraduate Research Assistant. The Gujral Lab is focused on understanding the details of how cells respond to external stimuli, both stimuli that are physiological and those that contribute to disease. The Research Assistance will prepare samples and carry out biochemical and PCR-based assays. The ideal candidates must be pursuing a degree in Bio-Engineering, Computer Science or related field and be proficient in various software packages in order to analyze data from these assays. Ideal candidates are familiar with Python language and would have experience in object-oriented programming, as evidenced by vettable code, and an interest in machine learning. The position requires attention to detail, a high level of initiative, and excellent communication skills. Must be flexible and work independently without supervision. The candidates will also have the opportunity to present their research during lab meetings and scientific conferences and to write, submit, and publish scientific papers. The research assistant must be available for up to 20 hours a week. This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely. Qualifications
