The Dudakov Lab within the Program of Immunology is seeking a Research Technician I to assist with investigating therapies to boost immune function. The position will be responsible for animal handling and genotyping; performing bench-level experiments; operating analytical instruments; recovering, compiling, and verifying the accuracy of research data; performing calculations; preparing charts, graphs and summaries.



Responsibilities

    Animal husbandry, including breeding, weaning, and genotyping
  • Nucleic acid extraction, PCR and other molecular biology protocols
  • Assist with experiments at the bench level to support investigative work
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents, stocks, cultures or cell lines
  • Order and maintain appropriate levels of supplies
  • Data analysis, careful documentation, oral and written communication of experimental results
  • Perform and modify documented protocols and assays
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in a scientific field required. Must have scientific knowledge in the area of study and basic laboratory skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and work independently in a collaborative environment
  • Highly detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Although direct experience is not necessary, a willingness to work with experimental animals is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Independent research experience in addition to school lab experience
  • Experience with PCR, ELISA, and/or flow cytometry
