Providence is seeking friendly and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Long Term Care team at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, WA.

We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

We are looking for Full time, Part time, and On-Call for all shifts (Day, Evening, Night, Variable)

In this position you will:



  • Administers total, comprehensive care to an assigned caseload based on the nursing process and the interdisciplinary care plan. Conducts initial and ongoing nursing assessments of all participants/residents/patients/clients; monitors health problems and health status as needed, and implement nursing care plans. Maintains shift accountabilities and ensures continuity of care through proper communication and documentation.
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, in conjunction with the Primary Care Physician. Provides health counseling and re-instructs participants and family members as needed.
  • Assists in implementing and carrying out care plan by:
  • Considers the emotional, psychosocial, spiritual and physical aspects of resident strengths and needs.
  • Assures the participants/residents/patients/clients needs and interests predominate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Includes each participants/residents/patients/clients and his/her family in all aspects of planning and teaching, giving consideration to the individual's strengths and needs and addressing their concerns/issues in a timely manner.
  • Assures that participants/residents/patients/clients are treated fairly with kindness, dignity, and respect. Also assures that choice, independence, and privacy are maintained.
  • Contributes to the total care plan by making pertinent nursing observations and participating in multidisciplinary team care conferences, staff meetings and in-services as needed.
  • Assures that proper equipment, instruments and supplies are available to meet patient needs.


Experience in an assisted living/senior living/nursing home setting as a RN is a plus.

Required qualifications for this position include:



  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current CPR certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Registered Nurse


Preferred qualifications for this position include:



  • Prior patient care experience in acute, sub-acute, long term care and/or with Alzheimer's or Dementia patients
  • (MDS) Minimum Data Set/ (RAI) Resident Assessment Instrument experience.

Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington serves people of all ages and faiths. Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home in "neighborhoods" and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.
