Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (Inpatient Rehab Neuro Stroke, Day Shift, 60 hours per 2 week pay period) to Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

• Recognize and be able to meet the basic needs of patients, such as bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Assist with all PO intake of food and/or liquids.
• Take and record daily vitals.
• Toileting patients and ensuring proper protocol is followed.
• Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly, including changing bed linens, emptying trash, putting away equipment (such as wheelchairs and walkers), stocking linens, etc.
• Ensuring equipment (helmets, SCDs, Spenco boots, etc.) that has been ordered by physician or clinician is being utilized by appropriate patients.
• Once MAR is obtained, responsible for checking and reporting blood sugars.
• Transfer patients in and out of bed and wheelchairs and transport to appointments as needed.
• Read and monitor BVI machines.
• Catheter care as needed.
• Accurately complete patient charting in a timely fashion.
• Maintain close communication with the team leader regarding the assessment of the response of patients and their families to medical care and regarding their needs for further education.

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Licensed as an NAC in the state of Washington or eligible.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider or obtain within first 30 days of employment.
• Obtain medical assistant registered within 6 months.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• One (1) year recent experience as an NAC.
