Job Summary **This position is located at Carilion Cardiology Clinic** This position is full time, working Monday-Friday 8a-5p This position will support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Will perform medical services under the direction of the manager of the clinic, in addition to preparing and monitoring the patient. Provides a calm, friendly and personable atmosphere for patients and families. Promotes a feeling of cooperation and concern when dealing with patients and families. Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Physician. Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) preferred. Experience: 6 months in EKG preferred; one year experience in physician office preferred. Licensure/Certifications/Registration: AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Cardiac Tech, MA or NA Certification preferred. Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective communication skills in order to work with the public. Computer skills to utilize database systems to perform job duties required. Must be able to problem-solve. Keyboarding required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
