Introduction

Taking place completely online, our virtual career fair on Tuesday, July 19th from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM allows you to explore our organization, our employment and volunteer opportunities, and engage directly with department representatives via dynamic one-on-one text or video chats that are seeking to hire candidates like YOU.

Attending this event is a great way to maximize your job seeking effort by allowing you the opportunity to meet and virtually engage with department representatives.

On the day of the career fair, you'll peruse the event lobby and choose which agencies to interact with. Once you click into an event booth, you can engage in a one-on-one text, audio, or video-based chat with a participating department representative as well as view the department information and available opportunities. Note: You are able to visit other booths while you are in queue to speak to a department representative.

Your How-To Guide to Getting the Most Out of the Event

• Register for the event to secure your spot!
• Make sure you complete the registration form to the best of your ability. If you have any special certifications/licensures make sure you include them (i.e. CDL, CPR, Inspection etc.)
• Make sure your Resume is up to date and accurate.
• If you can, do your homework ahead of time...Tip: Refer to our Careers page for information and the event flyer (see below) for participating departments.
• Prepare your elevator pitch/brief introduction of yourself.
• Dress for the part. Make sure you are camera ready in the instance that you engage in a video chat.
• Take notes during the fair. What department did you resonate with? Which job opportunities got you excited?
• ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT, MAKE SURE WHATEVER DEVICE YOU ARE USING HAS A STRONG INTERNET CONNECTION. Gaming, streaming or anything else sharing your network during the event may slow down your connection.
• VISIT OUR "SEE YOURSELF HERE" BOOTH. While you are waiting in queue to speak to a department representative visit this booth to learn more about the County, our culture and our people. Also, get tips on how to make your application with Prince William County competitive to earn you that interview.
• After the event you will receive a short survey. Please complete it. Those who do will be entered for a chance to win a giveaway .

Prince William County Government offers medical plans with corresponding pharmacy and basic vision coverage, as well as dental plans and a separate vision plan.

Full-time and part-time Prince William County Government employees are eligible to participate in our plans; however, the level and cost of benefits depends on the classification of the position.
The following positions do not accrue leave and are not eligible for holidays or other fringe benefits:
