Save Job Job Saved The Cylinder Division, headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois is looking for a Division Accounting Manager. Responsible for the supervision, control and analysis of the division's accounting systems and procedures. Including, but not limited to, cost accounting and general ledger and their supporting systems across eleven (11) locations throughout the Division. This position has direct reports and under the general direction of the division controller, supervises accounting functions to assure that all assets and liabilities are properly stated, according to the accounting standards. This position involves managing various accounting functions related to supporting Division/location staff as well as the operational units. This position requires a high level of responsibility in maintaining accounting controls as they relate to various Parker systems and programs.

  • Manage the coordination of monthly closing process for the Division.
  • Provide account reconciliation and business analysis as required.
  • Audit and review of various balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Manage the process of setting annual standard costs and departmental budgets.
  • Ensure inventory is properly costed and analyzed.
  • Prepare monthly reports and analysis for the division, group and corporate.
  • Ensure all cost and other accounting systems meet corporate guidelines.
  • Support annual planning process and prepare value stream statements.
  • Prepare monthly short term forecast and analysis.
  • Travel as required to the 10 manufacturing locations within the country .
  • Maintain highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7-10 years' experience in Accounting.
  • Experience with general ledger account reconciliation, review and critical analysis.
  • 3-5 years' supervisory experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of general accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle many tasks at a given time and work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, creative thinker, and change agent.
