Job Description and Requirements

The Synopsys IC Validator team is looking for a Software R&D Engineer. This individual will be designing and supporting physical verification software products for cutting-edge ICs and SoCs. Challenges include the ability to quickly learn and apply state of the art technology, design of highly efficient data structures and algorithms, and a commitment to deliver top quality production software which exceeds customer expectations.

M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field is required.

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Proficient in developing and maintaining complex software projects with C/C++ in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Strong background in data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and explore new technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge/Experience Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Physical Verification concepts (DRC, ERC, LVS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Python and Perl.
  • Understanding of concurrent execution topics, such as distributed processing and multi-threading.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, tools, and frameworks, such as performance profiling and unit testing.
  • Experience in CAD/EDA tool development

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $97,000 to $169,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a of a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
