Position Summary:

Lead the Cost Accounting efforts in regards to keeping raw material, purchased part, semi and finished item costs accurate in both the Manufacturing and Accounting Systems. Complete Managerial Accounting updates to provide actionable reports to leadership. Assure accurate Financial Reporting by managing General Ledger transactions, reconciling Balance Sheet accounts and processing Cost Updates, Inventory Adjustments, and Work Orders for KT Pacer as required.

Position Key Accountabilities:



  • Complete transactions between the Manufacturing system and the Accounting system
  • Work with Purchasing to understand purchased part and raw material costs, and make timely changes in the Manufacturing System accordingly
  • Track Unit Margins via compilation of data from the Manufacturing and Accounting System
  • Make inventory adjustments in the Manufacturing system and ensure associated financial transactions are captured accordingly
  • Update Managerial accounting reports to support leadership requests and prompt monthly decision making
  • Support Controller in Federal Excise Tax (FET) payments
  • Support Controller in International Fuel Tax Association (IFTA) calculations and payments
  • Process Manufacturing and Work Order Packages as required
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations for Various Accounts
  • Support timely and Accurate Monthly Overhead Account Reconciliations and Supporting Schedules to assist account owners with monitoring budget vs. actual activity
  • Support the Maintenance and Tracking of Work Order Contracts, including reconciliation to billing and expenditures
  • Support periodic and/or Annual inventory counts; re-establish perpetual inventory
  • Calculate and post monthly employee performance bonus
  • Support Controller in calculation of Sales Commissions
  • Monitors Equipment Leasing depreciation, valuation, and balance sheet categorization
  • Establishes and verifies product costing and inventory valuation for accurate Balance Sheet and Income Statement creation
  • Complete inflation analysis to monitor product costs overtime
  • Manage Warranty costing process and calculations
  • Assist Operations with projects as needed
  • Performance of other key projects to achieve overall department and divisional objectives
  • All other duties as assigned



Desired Qualifications and Experience Levels:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years in an Accountant role
  • Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • Must possess basic mathematic skills and the ability to analyze figures
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must be able to establish priorities and organize efficiently
  • Knowledge of MS Office, QuickBooks, and other accounting software is essential
  • Experience using Misys or other form of Manufacturing System software is preferred
