Job Overview

This role will lead the overall product strategy, development, and rollout of NAFTA's Digital Customer Experience digital product portfolio (mbusa.com, mbvans.com, mercedes-benz.ca, content microsites, and digital dealer tools) for new & certified pre-owned/used vehicles, digital services, and non-vehicle related content (accessories). Within an Agile/SAFe team framework, this role will work closely with our business and Digital House counterparts to enable and support frontend, integration, backend services and applications which enable the overall digital customer journey. This role will align with various stakeholders throughout the organization, including, but not limited to: Marketing Services, Sales Operations, Certified Pre-Owned, Network Development, Legal, Enterprise Data Organization, After Sales Business Development (ASBD), Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS), and Digital House (US & Germany) to provide our customers with the best possible user experience. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing and aligning outside agencies and partners for the overall technical solution strategy, landscape, and execution based on the product and enterprise roadmap.

You will:

* Work on some of the most complex problems imaginable at the intersection of two dynamic industries: Automotive and Technology

* Interact with unbelievably large and fascinating datasets/applications currently not available anywhere else

* Develop products that can change the way our retailers operate, and how automotive is done today - and tomorrow

* Influence decisions on Market Strategy, Platform Strategy, Client Engagement and implement innovative technology-based solutions

* Interact with other high-performing teams within Mercedes-Bens USA to inspire innovation and champion change throughout the organization

Qualifications

Responsibilities

- Own the technical health and stability of the customer facing Mercedes-Benz marketing and sales websites for the US and Canada.

- Develop and implement new concepts, methods and processes for effective project steering and coordination of NAFTA OneWeb including IT technical roadmap, timeline, KPIs and budget

- Closely collaborate with the local NAFTA and global Leadership Team and Program Management Offices regarding prioritization of milestones, requirements, and execution status

- Resolve complex technical challenges and mitigate risk by working with a cross-functional, distributed team comprised of internal Mercedes-Benz employees (local and global), external contractors, and external agency partners

- Craft and implement effective internal and external communications to improve transparency and visibility to key IT and business stakeholders within the local NAFTA and global organization

- Work closely with our software architects, software engineers from other disciplines, such as Software Engineers for Cloud Business Services / for Frontend, and of course our product owners.

- Support the design of software and system architectures in the creation of technical specifications based on known and proven software design patterns.

- This position will manage a team of 3 MBUSA employees.

Qualifications/ Education

- You have a Bachelor's / Master's degree in engineering (Software engineering, computer science), technical management, business administration, international business comparable studies

- You are experienced and certified in methods and development processes based on Scrum, SAFe, and/or DevSecOps

- You have a solid understanding and practice of agile software development and are comfortable working in collaborative, fast-paced and highly dynamic work environment.

- You have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in project or product management, innovation management and/or business development, ideally in Software development

- High proficiency in English; good knowledge of German would be of advantage

- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint); basic knowledge of Confluence/Jira or other project management software would be of advantage

- DevOps Experience a plus: AWS, AWS ECS & ECR, Docker, Kubernetes

- Frontend Technologies / Frameworks: JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, SASS, CSS3

- Previous experience working in or around React.js

- Experience with user interface design.

- Knowledge of performance testing frameworks including ALM Octane and Selenium

- Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software.

- You have a strong technical background, either from formal education or picked up from prior experience. You love understanding how systems work and interact with each other, and are passionate about making sure those details are correct and widely understood

- You are a perpetual learner, hate solving the same problem twice, and are always trying to improve your interrelated understanding of technology, business, and user experience

- You can build consensus amongst a wide range of partners including business owners, technology, operations, legal & compliance, marketing & sales

- You have a view on what it takes to build a scalable Digital Platform, shared components and services that can serve multiple distribution channels

- You have experience in organizing, researching, and analyzing client needs. You bridge the technical and business worlds, ensuring we are building the right products with a combination of vision, market/user/competitor research and usage metrics

- You should have experience in Product Management discipline doing business analysis, market/user research, owning roadmap, project management, business, and project plans

- You should be familiar with the concepts and technologies of cloud-native software architecture such as containers, orchestration, distributed messaging, REST, microservices, and serverless

- You should be familiar with core areas and trends in applied machine learning such as NLP and virtual assistants

- You should be familiar with the data science model development lifecycle (data preparation, model training, etc.), and the challenges associated with making it scale

- You are a team player and can roll your sleeves up when you need to, and are able to lead and influence product conversations with all involved parties

- You can navigate a matrixed organization and the ability to influence peers by articulating the product offering and value to business partners

- You should have familiarity with Automotive Markets and Products, coupled with the curiosity to quickly pick up subject matter expertise in a specific area

- You are highly motivated, resilient and results oriented. In the end, what matters to us is that when something needs to get done, people come to you to get it done
