Accounting Manager Habitat for Humanity - North Central Georgia, which serves Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, and North Fulton counties, enables individuals to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia, Inc., an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an affordable, ecumenical Christian housing ministry located in Roswell, Georgia. We are looking for an Accounting Manager. The focus of this position is on all aspects of financial management of the affiliate. Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Accounting Manager is responsible for the overall accounting process and financial reporting of the affiliate. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable: Create and maintain vendor files (W9s/COI/annual subcontractor agreements) Review coding/enter invoices; review vendor statements and remedy account issues; and ensure vendor discounts are being taken Bi-Weekly check runs Process all automated transactions Coordinate accounts payable vendor information for annual workers compensation audit Provide YE information to CPA to produce 1099s, then distribute to vendors and IRS Accounts Receivable: Record house sponsorships and grants receivable payments Provide receivables aging reports on sponsorships as requested Process checks received and donation receipts from various sources Record gifts in-kind Work with ED/funding team by providing weekly updates of cash received General Ledger: Enter adjustments at twice a year for CIP and fiscal year end entries Financial Reporting: Prepare annual budget for affiliate Prepare monthly financial package for finance committee Prepare construction budgets for homes built and compare to actual costs Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis End of month adjustments (mortgage account balancing/donation invoice/home closings) Record intercompany transactions with North GA Community Housing Development Corp P&L, Balance Sheets, Weekly Cash Receipts, CIP reports, Homeowner Critical Delinquencies Report, Cash Forecast Create required audit schedules, amortizations and pull documents as required for FYE audit and field visit Provide annual audit and 990 informational tax return schedules Assist with SHOP reports Provide financial reports for grants, as needed. Meet with Board and Finance Committee as needed Mortgage Closings: Schedule mortgage closings with closing attorney Prepare closing documents to include Affordable Mortgage Calculator and Loan Details for approval by the ED, and provide to attorney for closing Provide homeowner's Closing Disclosures in conjunction with the Director of Family Services and Community Engagement Manager in accordance with Truth in Lending laws. Mortgage Servicing: Set up new mortgages in Quick Books (QB) Set up loan repair notes in QB Set up automatic payments for homeowner's deposits/loan payments Send new mortgage documents and information to Affiliate Mortgage Services (AMS) for set up Record homeowner mortgage receipts from AMS Monthly delinquency call with AMS to discuss payment plans and course of action for delinquent accounts Prepare information to attorney for foreclosure, bankruptcy, satisfaction of mortgages from payoffs Provide information for mortgage payoffs to AMS and co-ordinate payoffs of 2nd/3rd silent mortgages Prepare amortization schedule of mortgage discount for annual audit Human Resources: Set up new employee in ADP and ADP 401k Process weekly payroll Set up benefits and appropriate weekly deductions out of paycheck Assist with set up of HR procedures and policies WC/STD/LTD set up Miscellaneous: Renew corporate registrations and licenses Review term loan and LOC Renew all vehicle/trailer registrations 401k compliance reporting annually Onboard new employees/set up benefits Prepare annual benefits applications (health ins, life ins, vision, dental, WC) Submit WC claims Keep auto insurance coverage current to include adding/deleting properties and drivers Ad hoc projects relating to policies and procedures Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent work experience; highly organized Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and writing skills; energetic, extroverted, and Detail-oriented Nonprofit accounting experience Team-player Adaptable to changes in schedules and site conditions; Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel, QuickBooks; ADP (or equivalent payroll system) Passion for Habitat's mission and serving others College education or significant relevant work experience Experience working in a nonprofit Contact: Submit resume to c.
