HIM Tech - Health Information Management - FT - Weekdays

Analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.

Ensures any deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.

Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.

Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.

Completes Birth Certificates

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Additional education in a Health Information Management field preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
One year of previous clerical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Previous experience with imaging equipment preferred.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Must have or obtain NC Notary within 90 days of employment.
