Salesforce Industries Cloud is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the Public cloud engineering and Site Reliability Engineering teams for one of the largest and most trusted cloud platforms in the world

The successful leader will have a
strong engineering background, be a hands-on leader when needed with a command of Public Cloud, CI/CD toolchain & systems, code build & deployment, incident response, application analytics, and 24X7 monitoring & support teams across the globe.

You will be required to work closely with the Development, Quality, Performance, Support teams and support multiple sub clouds within the
Industries vertical. The candidate must be a self-starter and possess very good analytical skills. Must possess the ability to work in an agile environment. Passion for security, availability, and prior experience working at or closely with CRM and Cloud Service Providers is a major plus.

Role
  • Lead a team of Engineers including SREs, DevOps, and tools to implement sustainable and scalable solutions with goals of improving availability, and security of products.

  • Lead by example, mentor the team of Managers & IC and establish credibility through quality technical execution, and pitch in with hands-on help as needed to keep things running smoothly.

  • You will apply engineering leadership and deep knowledge of infrastructure and software development at scale to lead the operation, adoption, and evolution of these services

  • Manage customers on deployments and availability.

  • Ensure security requirements are met and environments meet compliance controls.

  • Own the strategy and development of the incident response management and service capacity management.

  • Develop tight relationships with multiple software development partners, ensuring that product needs are met from an operations perspective.

Responsibilities
  • 10+ years of demonstrated ability in site reliability, and technical operations

  • Experience building large and geographically disperse infrastructure supporting business-critical cloud & on-premises services

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience with large-scale, high-volume SaaS, PaaS, or other cloud provider environments.

  • Operational experience at scale - designing and operating highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems using best-of-breed technologies like containers, APIs, Data Platform, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support

  • Comfortable leading discussions with upper management and have experience tailoring the level of technical details to suit the audience
