Overview:
Do you have previous experience creating costumes, or would like to grow your sewing skills further? Become part of the team responsible for creating and maintaining, the specialty costumes used in many of Kings Dominions shows and Holiday events. Work alongside other talented and creative individuals in an engaging, high-energy environment.
Responsibilities:
* Works closely with Costume Area Supervisor to ensure the quality of all themed entertainment and stage productions.
* Assists in all costume related aspects of haunted attractions and productions including design, construction and maintenance.
* Prepares costumes for shows (stage shows, street performers, musicians, characters, etc.) and maintains costume appearance and continuity.
* Assists show participants with fast dress changes during the show
* Cleans performer's costumes after the show, prepare for laundry, and use washer and dryer as directed
* Informs supervisor of any operational or technical problems
* Follows the directives and procedures of the costume shop
* Maintains the inventory supply of the costume shop
* Functions as a liaison with the production staff
* Fits and alters costumes as needed, utilizing sewing machine as needed and demonstrating basic sewing ability (seams, hems, buttons, etc.)
* Issues and collects costumes
* Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving directions.
* Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area, performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements, and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
* Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
* Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
Qualifications:
* Resume with listed experience and education in relation to working as a costumer.
* Ability to demonstrate sewing ability (by both hand and machine).
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* Experience in theatre or in the themed entertainment industry preferred.
* Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
* Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
* Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
