Overview:
Kings Dominion is hiring fulltime, year round Cooks in Doswell, Virginia. These positions come with a generous benefit package, paid training and the opportunity to laern and grow with a great organization.
Responsibilities:
* Follow a given recipe and quality standard and prepare and cook various food items, using different methods and kitchen equipment such as oven, fryers and grills.
* Ensure that the kitchen, prep areas, and food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards and Board of health regulations.
* Communicate with other team members as well as a Culinary lead to ensure speedy production and service
* Maintains cleanliness of work station area, including shelves, tables, grills, fryers, and ovens, are kept cleaned and sanitized always following Cedar Fair safety and sanitation policies
* Cooks and prepares food items; ensures speedy service and that only quality food items are prepared and service while using correct portions to ensure proper food cost procedures are followed.
* Keeps work area clean, sanitary and orderly including the preparation area, serving lines and all equipment. Ensures product temperature controls are met and maintained for quality and safety.
* Learns, understands and demonstrates proficiency in operational tasks, service/production flow, equipment cleaning and usage, and menu items in the location. Follows all Board of Health Regulations.
* Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
* Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
* Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
* Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
* Minimum: 18 years old
* Minimum 2 years kitchen experience
* Open availability to fill a rotating 40 hour schedule, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
* Ability to pass a servsafe certification class & servesafe alcohol certification class.
