The County of Sonoma Human Services Department is seeking a qualified IT professional to join their Reporting, Applications and Data (RAD) Unit as a Human Services Systems and Programming Analyst!
Starting salary up to $53.17/hour ($
110,972.17 /year), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!* The Human Services Systems and Programming Analyst position is responsible for applications analysis, design, programming, database design, and database administration work for the Human Services Department, which is not supported by the County's central Information Services Department (ISD) programming staff. The position works with considerable independence on complex systems and programs, typically has overall responsibility for design and installation of one or more major systems, and is expected to be competent in all phases of applications programming, database design/administration, and analysis. Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, this would include:
Education: Completion of completion of 24 semester college units or 36 quarter units in computer science or information systems. Experience: Three years of experience performing both systems analysis/design and programming for business applications, which entailed analysis and design of several systems.
License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including necessary special endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform the essential job functions of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: techniques used for finding and correcting problems in programs and systems; principles and methods of business applications programming; principles and methods used in analysis and application development; principles of systems and procedures analysis and documentation; uses and limitations of applications; programming languages applicable to system in use in operating department; current developments in applications development and database administration; operating capabilities of common hardware configurations; project management methods and techniques; database design, development, administration and management concepts and techniques; data mining, storage, and warehousing methods; state-of-the-art Internet technologies, methods, standards, and issues (e.g., security, privacy, accessibility); Internet services concepts and best practices; Internet services architecture.
