LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SALARY: $3,230.75 - $3,769.16 Monthly OPENING DATE: 04/13/22 CLOSING DATE: 05/04/22 11: 59 PM DESCRIPTION: The Learning Management Systems (LMS) Administrator is responsible for coordinating and managing the institution’s LMS. The LMS Administrator supports the faculty in course creation and technical issues related to the LMS. Additionally, the LMS Administrator consults with colleagues within the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the faculty to recommend new instructional tools enhancing the distance learning experiences of faculty and students. Furthermore, the LMS Administrator is responsible for collaborating on professional development for faculty and staff on effectively using the LMS and its tools to engage students with effective teaching and advising strategies that improve student completion and success. The LMS Administrator will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a training and administrative manual for the LMS. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Essential responsibilities and other duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Essential Functions: Manages and administers all aspects of the institution’s LMS, including but not limited to creating and copying courses, automating processes, troubleshooting issues, enrollment management, third-party software integration, and providing support to students and faculty. Marginal Functions: Serves on standing and ad hoc committees and focus groups; researches and develops recommendations related to academic and instructional programs; maintains contacts with professional organizations to keep the area current. QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Knowledge of: Principles and procedures of internet instructional technology applications, including learning management systems, multimedia creation, and editing tools. Ability to: Interpret and apply college and assigned division goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Environmental Conditions: The LMS Administrator should have the ability to effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve an office and classroom workspace, working closely with others, and periodically working irregular hours. The LMS Administrator must maintain the office and teaching environments by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment. Physical Conditions: Physical and marginal functions require the ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following; standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, moderate lifting and carrying, general manual dexterity, operating assigned equipment, and extended exposure to computer screens. The LMS Administrator is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned equipment, communicating with others, and handling varied tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the LMS Administrator must maintain mental capacity, which permits making sound decisions and using good judgment, demonstrating intellectual capabilities, and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and personnel. Scheduling Conditions: This is a full-time, 12-month position. This 40-hour per week position requires the LMS Administrator to be on campus or at an approved alternate location. This position provides support on nights, weekends, holidays, and system emergencies when needed. Traveling Conditions: Local travel between the Caldwell campus, Watauga campus, or any off-campus sites may be needed. Out-of-state travel is limited but may be required for training and conferences. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Required Experience and Training: Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university in computer information technology, computer programming, networking technology, or related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and third-party certifications; Preferred Experience and Training: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in computer science, instructional technology, educational technology, instructional design, or in a curriculum subject area; recblid tt6roihlov4fqs0jedzavthh2eflu9 |
