The Lead, Distribution, performs the duties as a Shipper associate with the added responsibilities of leading other Distribution associates with Shipping duties.

Key Job Responsibilities:



  • Ensure adequate trailers are available to unload in receiving and load for outbound loads
  • Open and close trailers; apply and remove glad hand locks and trailer securement equipment for safe loading and unloading
  • Ensure any outbound adjustments to the load plan are communicated to NFI Transportation
  • Communicate with the spotter to manage trailer movement in and out of the dock doors
  • Work with supervisors on identifying best practices and potential improvements
  • Assist with ad hoc information requests, projects, and operational needs
  • Responsible for the operation in lieu of supervisor
  • Unload trailer and verify load prior to distributing product.
  • Accurately distribute product to pre-determined routes.
  • Report overages and shortages to Head Shipper.
  • Be aware of and follow all safety procedures as set forth by the company.
  • Manually select a wide variety of products
  • Work in a fast pace environment with a high focus on safety and customer service.
  • Close interaction and work within a team environment.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

Requirements:



  • Education: High School Education or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 Years of relevant shipping experience preferred.
  • A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • Strong reading, math and people skills.
  • Must be well organized and computer literate.
  • Be able to lift 20 lbs over head
  • Must be able to work Nights, Weekends & Holidays.
