We are seeking to add a bright and motivated individual to our growing and sophisticated tax practice, including an Experienced Senior Tax Associate.

Duties of the position:



  • Supervises and reviews multipletax returns, simultaneously
  • Proactively communicates planning opportunities and facilitates communication internally
  • Works closely and directly with clients
  • Actively engaged in managing projects (client service, economics, and profitability)
  • Reviews the tax work of associates (tax return preparation, tax research and related duties) relative to various entity types, including C corporations, S corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, trusts and estates as well as individuals
  • Acts as a resource on complex technical tax matters utilizing a strong understanding of different entity types and their associated tax issues
  • Applies specialized technical expertise and recognizes and communicates planning opportunities
  • Communicates effectively with clients, managers and partners on a wide variety of complex tax and client matters
  • Liaise with tax managers and partners to organize the flow of client work
  • Actively participate in recruiting, office and networking events
  • Provide tax compliance and consulting services to multiple clients, simultaneously, including High-Net-Worth individuals, Corporations, and Partnerships
  • Develops and delivers innovative financial planning ideas that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Oversees complex tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries
  • Works closely with clients to minimize their tax liabilities and obligations and ensures client satisfaction
  • Supervises staff and manages the day-to-day delivery of consulting services to client
  • Develops and motivates tax staff by providing them with coaching, leadership and career guidance
  • Identifies additional service opportunities that will help clients be more efficient in order to operate and grow their business
  • Actively participate in training activities to help share knowledge and develop staff

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
  • BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master degree in Taxation preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to independently research and solve complex tax and accounting issues and write well-organized memos
  • Strong understanding of current tax code, with expert knowledge of one or more areas of taxation (corporations, pass-trough's, individuals, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and perform at a high level
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with ProSystems & RIA is preferred
  • Expert work paper referencing and filing methods and willingness to teach same
  • Exceptional client service, communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Ability to flexibly work as part of a team striving to meet periodic and other client requirements
  • Ability to delegate work and manage staff
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated specialized technical and industry knowledge expertise and committed to further development through personal reading, research and coursework
  • Commands knowledge of different entity structures and their tax rules
  • Ability to travel to client locations which may include occasional overnight stays
  • Expert knowledge of work paper referencing and filing requirements
  • CPA licensure or equivalent (EA, JD, Chartered Accountant)
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential
